Wonton Soup
This homemade wonton soup, a classic Chinese dish featuring delicate wontons filled with a flavourful pork and shrimp filling. This soup is perfect if you are looking for a light yet comforting meal. This recipe is easy-to-make and it tastes way better compared to store-bought frozen wontons.
Tip #1
Seal Wontons Properly: Ensure the edges of the wontons are sealed tightly to prevent them from opening while cooking. A bit of water along the edges helps create a good seal.
Tip #2
Simmer Gently: When cooking the wontons, maintain a gentle simmer to avoid breaking them. Aggressive boiling can cause the wontons to open and the filling to escape.
Tip #3
Adjust Seasoning: Taste your broth before adding the wontons and adjust the seasoning if needed. This ensures the soup has a rich and balanced flavour that complements the wontons.
